You get what you pay for

The IP Shop is dedicated to providing intellectual property law services to you at reasonable prices, by reducing overhead and unnecessary expenditures. We will come to your office, provide a free consultation, and provide an estimate for whatever legal services you might require. If you choose to proceed you can then engage us through either an hourly rate based retainer or through a fixed fee agreement.

Hourly Rates

Our hourly rate is 250 dollars per hour, inclusive of any applicable taxes, and basic overhead (photocopying, long distance charges, file opening fees etc.). Where there is a disbursement required for your file (government filing fees etc.) we will try to identify it as early as possible.

Satisfaction

We wish to provide you with a quality service at a reasonable and fair price. Our hourly rates reflect this and we believe they are highly competitive relative to our skill and experience. If however you are ever dissatisfied with the quality of service provided or the amount charged on any bill you can reduce the bill by up to 50% at your sole discretion. This is conditional upon you advising us of your concern and the reason for it within 14 days of the date of first receipt of the invoice, and to your payment of the remainder of the amount owing on time.

Fixed Fee Agreements

Want budgeting certainty? We do that too. Let us know and we can arrange a fixed fee for almost any legal work you might require. That way, you will know in advance exactly what your costs will be.

Fee Averaging

Demand for legal services, particularly litigation, can vary greatly from month to month. If you want greater budgeting certainty let us know. We are happy to work with you to prearrange a monthly payment plan averaging the cost of anticipated hourly-based legal services over several months. If you are paying a fixed fee, we can prearrange a monthly payment plan breaking the fee into smaller monthly payments.
